On July 28, according to US media TMZ, NBA player Marcus Morris was arrested in Florida for suspected fraud and was not allowed to be released on bail, facing up to 10 years in prison.

Marcus Morris is detained awaiting trial for suspected interstate blank check fraud. The judge ruled that he was not allowed to be released on bail. The case is still under trial. The authorities released his jail photo - looking at the camera with a blank expression; according to the Federal Check Fraud Act, Morris' accused of "interstate blank checks" will face up to 10 years in prison if it is classified as a felony.

Previously, Morris Jr. was involved in many legal disputes - he was charged with assault in 2021, and was charged with assault in 2025 for suspected fight (the other party's nose was fractured and had multiple scars) and was eventually found not guilty; Morris Jr. is now arrested and imprisoned for a blank check case, facing up to 10 years in prison.

TMZ said: We have contacted law enforcement for more information and no response has been made so far.

Morris Jr.'s total career salary is nearly $100 million. In 2020, he signed a four-year, $64 million contract with the Clippers.

Morris Jr. is 35 years old. His last time he competed in the NBA was in the 2023-24 season, playing for the Cavaliers and the 76ers. Morris Jr. was selected by the Rockets with the No. 14 pick in 2011. After two years of playing for the Rockets, he has played for the Suns, Pistons, Celtics, Knicks, Clippers, 76ers and Cavaliers. He has played in a total of 832 regular season games in his 13-year career, averaging 12 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, shooting percentage of 43.5%, and three-point shooting percentage of 37.7%.
