Curry is absent, Warriors lose to Minnesota, where is the series going

Basketball

G2, the Golden State Warriors challenge the Minnesota Timberwolves away in May 9. Before the game, Curry was diagnosed with a first-degree sprain and was expected to miss 2-4 games. In the end, the Warriors lost 93-117 and equalized the series to 1-1 by the Timberwolves.

The Timberwolves showed strong aggressiveness at the opening game. Randall, McDaniels, and Conley scored 13-0, and the Warriors lost all the first 9 shots, and it was not until Butler hit a three-pointer to break the scoring drought. The Warriors trailed 14 points 15-29 in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Kumingga and Davis Jr. made a substitute, but the Timberwolves Randall, Divinchenzo and Walker performed well, and the Warriors were still 17 points behind at the end of the half.

The side changes again, Warriors Butler and Kumingga bloom inside and outside, and Hilder's touch rebounded, scoring 16-6 to narrow the gap to 7 points. However, Edwards of the Timberwolves returned, with McDaniels, Divinchenzo, Naz Reed and Walker making three-pointers in a row, opening the gap back to 20 points 23-7. In the final quarter, although the Warriors resisted tenaciously, the Timberwolves performed stably and finally won a big victory.

Player performance of the Warriors Butler made 6 of 13 shots, 2 of 4 three-pointers, scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. He was under tremendous pressure on the offensive end, but he couldn't stand it alone. Kumingga made 8 of 11 shots and scored 18 points efficiently, showing great potential and is one of the few highlights of the Warriors. But except for them, the rest of the Warriors performed poorly, and several substitutes made no achievements on the court.

Edwards was stepped on by TJD and fought with an injury in the second half. He made 6 of 13 shots, scored 20 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. His comprehensive performance was the key to the team's victory; Randall made 10 of 17 shots, scored 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 11 assists, and performed well on both ends of offense and defense; McDaniels made 7 of 10 shots, scoring 16 points, causing great trouble to the Warriors on the defensive end; Substitute Walker made 7 of 13 shots, 4 of 6 three-pointers, efficiently scoring 20 points, becoming the team's surprise. The Timberwolves performed well and showed strong competitiveness.

This game fully highlights the importance of Curry to the Warriors. After his absence, the Warriors' offensive efficiency plummeted from a season-average 118.5 to 92.3, with 56 points lost on the inside of the defensive end. In the subsequent matches of the series, Warriors head coach Cole needs to explore more scoring points, Butler wants to better connect with the team, and young players such as Kumingga need to continue to grow. On the defensive end, we must readjust the strategy and strengthen restrictions on the core players of the Timberwolves. If Curry can come back on the G4 line, it may completely change the trend of the series. The subsequent games are full of suspense. What do you think about this?
