Gobert: The Thunder s defense is ruthless, and they cannot miss the judgment, miss the shot or disrupt our rhythm.
On May 22, Timberwolves player Gobert was interviewed by the media during the team's training break and talked about the team's performance in the first game of the Western Conference Finals.
Gobert said of the Thunder's interior defense: "They did a great job of putting pressure on the ball holders and shrinking the interior."
Regarding the Thunder's defensive style, Gobert added: "Their defense is ruthless. We expected it. They will pull and foul actions. We know we won't get all the whistles, we can only continue to deal with these situations in the game, and we will not let a missed judgment, miss a shot or something like that disrupts our rhythm."
Gobert played 21 minutes in the first game of the Western Conference Finals, making 1 of 3 shots, scoring 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block. The Timberwolves' inside score was limited to just 20 points throughout the game, the lowest score since February 2015.
Timberwolves lost to the Thunder 88-114 in their first game, and are currently behind 0-1. The second game of the two teams will start at 8:30 am on May 23.
