Paul Fu said he was not clear about James future! He said he was dealing with a knee injury and would make his own decision
On May 24, the NBA playoffs continued. Recently, Lakers reporter Jovan Buha said that James' relationship with the Lakers is sometimes cold. In response to this, James's agent Ritchie Paul admitted that he did not know James' future direction.
James will turn 41 at the end of this year. He averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, 7.8 rebounds and 1 steal in the 2024-25 season, shooting percentage of 51.3% and 37.6% from three-pointers. This summer, James has a $52.63 million player option.
When talking about James' choice this summer, Lakers reporter Jovan Buha said: "I think it's possible that James is leaving in a probabilistic way. As we have reported many times in the news - not only me, but Sam Amick has also reported that sometimes his relationship with the team is a bit cold, and it's unlikely that he will still be enthusiastic after all these years. But I said that I think James will be a member of the Lakers next year. The only question is whether he will execute the player option or choose to jump out of the contract and re-sign."
In the "Rich Eisen Show" podcast, James' agent Rich Paul was also asked about James' future. Ritchie Paul said: "I don't know, I really don't know at all. Now I'm focusing on this year's draft. Usually, we weigh all the factors and see how he feels. We all know now that he is dealing with a knee injury. I forgot how many years we have been, and now we have some other free agents. He will say what he thinks at some point."
Now James has been in the NBA for 22 seasons, not only winning 40,000 points and four championships, but also achieving the same stage as father and son. What do you think James will choose? Welcome to give your opinions in the comment section.
