Stone made clear requirements for Shepard: He must perform well for the team next season

Basketball

In an interview, Rockets general manager Stone talked about the growth of player Shepard, and he made a straightforward request to Shepard.

Stone said: "Shepard has to play a very good performance for us, it's that simple."

Shepard is about to usher in his second season. The Kentucky player averaged 4.4 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in his rookie season. He played in 52 games in total, 3 of which were the starter, but his playing time sample was very small, averaging only 12.6 minutes per game.

Stone believes Shepard will stand up and become an important contributor to the Rockets. Shepard had a brilliant performance against the Los Angeles Clippers at the end of the season, making 6 of 10 shots from three-pointers and scoring 20 points. Then in the next game against the Los Angeles Lakers, he scored another 14 points and made 4 of 8 three-pointers. Although it was only two games, he scored a total of 34 points against two playoff-level teams, which is a good signal for his future development.
