Wade: Butler received the maximum salary but did not play aggressively. How could the Warriors win?

Former NBA star Dwyane Wade recently talked about the performance of Golden State Warriors forward star Jimmy Butler during the playoffs in his personal podcast. It seems that Wade is extremely disagreeable for Butler's performance.

Wade said: I just don't like the way he plays, I used to know Jimmy very well, I know he is a passionate player, and he is willing to share the ball on the court, he is a great teammate. But the problem now is that you are paying $60 million, and you can’t do this with such a performance with so much money. In the game, he didn't look at the basket at all, I've seen this before, when I was still at the Miami Heat, I was staring at him almost every moment to see what he was doing.

Wade continued: We have seen his performance against the Denver Nuggets in the Finals, and he needs to complete a lot of points on the court. What we need is not just a great performance Jimmy Butler, but when the team needs you to score, you have to come forward immediately. I don’t care whether I can make an investment or not, but he doesn’t even take action or break through. This is obviously not a good performance. I know he is trying to get his teammates involved, he does a great job of giving his teammates opportunities, but when they aren't able to do it, you're the one who has to stand up and score. When Batman is not there, Robin has to stand up, and that's how Jimmy Butler should have played from my point of view, but he hasn't done that.

Since joining the Warriors in the middle of the season, Butler has played 30 games for the team in the NBA regular season this season, averaging 32.7 minutes per game, averaging 17.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 0.3 blocks, and 1.5 turnovers and 1 foul. He has shot 47.6%, three-point shooting percentage 27.9%, and 87% free throw shooting percentage. In the playoffs, Butler played 11 games in these 12 games, averaging 36.1 minutes per game, averaging 19.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.3 blocks, and 1.2 turnovers and 1.7 fouls. His shooting percentage was 44.7%, three-point shooting percentage was 30.6%, and his free throw shooting percentage was 80%.

In fact, Wade said something is reasonable. Butler obviously did not play all his talents in the second round of the playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves, his scoring ability was not played out, and his performance on the offensive end was very mediocre. Even if Stephen Curry is out of the game due to injury, he has not taken on more scoring responsibilities, which seems a bit bad. If Butler could perform better, the Warriors might have a better situation in this round of the series, or at least win one or two more games. With so much money, Butler should really do more.
