Western media: Liverpool looking for Salah replacement

Football

According to the Spanish transfer media "Fichajes", the defending Premier League champion Liverpool plans to spend more than 100 million euros in next summer's transfer window to introduce Barcelona winger Rafinha to replace Salah.

reported: "Raphinha will directly replace Salah. The two have the same job and their playing styles are highly similar." It is reported that Barcelona has not ruled out the possibility of selling the Brazilian international, especially when a "reasonable and attractive" offer is received.

Liverpool is likely to sell Salah to a Middle Eastern club in the summer window of 2026 to raise funds to introduce the top star who ranked fifth in the Ballon d'Or last season. Considering that Salah's contract with the club will last until the summer of 2027, this deal is expected to bring transfer revenue of no less than 100 million euros to Liverpool.

Rafinha's condition has improved by leaps and bounds since Flick coached Barcelona. The 28-year-old left-footer relied on his excellent dribbling and finishing skills. He contributed 31 goals and 17 assists last season, helping Barcelona beat Real Madrid and win three domestic championships. It is worth mentioning that Raphinha played for Leeds United for many years in his early years and is no stranger to the rhythm of the Premier League, which also lowered his adaptation threshold after joining Liverpool.

On the other hand, Salah has shown signs of weakness in recent years. The "Egyptian Pharaoh" repeatedly missed opportunities in key games, his speed in handling the ball slowed down significantly, and his performance on the field could hardly return to its peak. There are various signs that Liverpool's top management may have begun to prepare for the post-Salah era.
