Clippers inside pillar: My goal is the best defensive player, Bill will perform well in the Clippers

Basketball

Los Angeles Clippers inside star Ivica Zubac talked about his goals for the new season and the team's new backcourt player Bradley Beal (Bradley Beal) on the "The Underground Lounge" program.

When talking about his goals, Zubac said: In the new season, I want to become the best defensive player of the year. That is my primary goal. I came close to being an All-Star last season, but in the end I just couldn't make it. This season I hope I can be in that discussion. From a team perspective, every player in the locker room wants to win the championship, and they did not form such a competitive team just to compete in the first round of the playoffs. I think about this the same way, so the championship is also my biggest goal.

When talking about Bill's situation, Zubac continued: Bill was a player who averaged 30 points per game before. He was an All-Star player. He has not forgotten how he did it. The situation in the Phoenix Suns last season was not the best for him. I feel like he didn't have a true point guard around him when he was in the Suns, which also led to his performance not being able to reach the best level. And on our team, we have two of the best point guards in the league, and they will make it easier for Bill to play on the court, because everyone knows that Bill played his best performance when working with top point guards such as John Wall and Russell Westbrook.

In the NBA regular season last season, Zubac played a total of 80 times in 82 games, averaging 32.8 minutes per game. He averaged 16.8 points, 12.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.7 steals, 1.1 blocks per game, 1.6 turnovers and 2.1 fouls. He shot 62.8% from the field and 68.1% from the free throw line. In the playoffs, Zubac played a total of 7 times, averaging 36.6 minutes per game. He averaged 17.4 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 1 block per game. He also had 1.6 turnovers and 2.7 fouls. He shot 65.9% from the field and 53.8% from the free throw line. In the NBA regular season last season, Beal was affected by injuries in 82 games and played a total of 53 times on behalf of his old club Suns. He averaged 32.1 minutes per game. He averaged 17 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.5 blocks per game. He also had 1.9 turnovers and 2.6 fouls. He shot 49.7% from the field, 38.6% from the three-point range and 80.3% from the free throw line. Next, we can also take a look at how Bill performed after joining the Clippers, and whether Zubac can challenge for the honor of the best defensive player in the new season?
