On July 5, he collided fiercely with Paris goalkeeper Donaluma in the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup, resulting in a fracture of the fibula. You have not made any public statements since then. Are you OK?

My feet are fine, and the recovery process is proceeding as planned. I don't need crutches anymore. But I don't want to be too hasty; I want to take it slowly.

Psychologically, the first few weeks were not easy for me. But if I keep getting… (can’t play, watch the Bundesliga opener in the stands, it’s painful.) I already know: When I can play again, I do what I love.

This gives me the motivation and happiness to rehabilitate. I see my teammates every day; they will come to see me at the therapy place. I think so: It is better to be out of the game at the beginning of the season and be out of the game again at the end of the season. I want to stay 100% in important games.

Until today, people will ask themselves: How did you spend the moment you were hurt? Those scenes are shocking; your teammates and opponents on the field are almost afraid to look directly at them.

I don't want to think about this. Until today, I have never even watched the video at that time, only photos. After being injured, I immediately stayed away from my phone and hoped that the internet would not be affected. I stopped using social media for a few days until after the surgery. What was your first thought after the collision?

I closed my eyes; of course, I was in pain. You can imagine what I was thinking about at the time. After all, the game against Paris Saint-Germain was my first time returning to the starter after a muscle injury. How long will I be out now? What to do next? After

, the discussion also turned to why Donaruma did not apologize immediately. How do you think about this?

I don't care; this doesn't change anything. At that moment, my mind was completely confused.

I can imagine how bad Donnarumma felt at the time. He went to play football, but it was not intentional: I was not angry with Donaruma, and later he contacted me. Everything is fine,

these things will happen. How have you dealt with injuries since then?

I moved again: I moved back from the city and moved my own apartment. I need to move for two reasons:

is to make me happy on one hand, and to be realistic on the other hand, because I can hardly move. My mother helped me install rehabilitation equipment, such as a lymphatic treatment device, and brought me something and cooked rice. Having someone by my side made everything much easier.

For example, I started watching a new drama with my sister Latisha: We are watching Scandal (a story about a political crisis manager).

How wonderful are these daily moments?

Spend time with your family makes everything easy. You won't think about it anymore, and you won't ask yourself any questions about injuries anymore, which will make time pass faster.

They will be with me on days when I feel uncomfortable. Now we enjoy a week of family vacation. Such holidays are usually impossible during the season. But I need it to clear my mind. And I was able to do rehabilitation training there, too.

Are books or music helpful to you?

My mom always recommends books to me and even shares various videos on Instagram to inspire me. Today she recommended three books to me. She wrote, "Come and see!!!", and added four exclamation marks.

Among them, today I also watched a video of swimmer Michael Phelps. Sometimes I don't even have time to finish reading. I've read David Goggins (former Marine). (He is a retired SEAL, extreme athlete and motivational speaker) and Kobe Bryant’s personal coach Tim Grover.

They read how both of them deal with injuries. The music kept playing, hip hop, and even helped me fall asleep.

Your best friend on the team is Alfonso Davis, who is also missing due to a torn cruciate ligament. Sane, who got along well with you, left the club. Which teammate can encourage you now?

Alfonso and I were close to each other during our recovery period. It feels better when we can train together on the court soon, which is cool and more fun.

We will return at relatively the same time. Michael Olisse and I were also very close; we chatted every day and talked basically everything. All three of us are looking forward to the day we are on the court together. But overall, the whole team is very supportive and makes me feel good.

Have you figured out the specific date for your comeback?

You never know when what steps you need to take.
