NBA star Shamet serves as US Open photographer
For the past four years, Shamet has been an avid amateur photographer and is in his second tenure with the American Tennis Association.
Like most basketball players, Landry Shamet has been busy shooting.
This weekend, they brought their cameras. He worked as a photographer at the U.S. Open.
The security guard who worked for the New York Knicks last season worked for the American Tennis Association and took photos of the women’s and men’s finals at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Shamet, who has been an NBA player since 2018, said photography started with a hobby about four years ago. Eventually, he began to meet professionals and gain more experience, and his passion began to grow from that time on.
"I miraculously came to the U.S. Open," he said Sunday, and was in the photography area to watch Carlos Alcaras beat Jennik Sina.
