Hupu, November 21st, the NBA announced on Thursday, local time, that one month into the new regular season, the number of viewers watching NBA games through various live broadcast platforms across the United States has exceeded 60 million, which is the highest opening ratings in the past 15 years.

ESPN stated that this season is the first season that the NBA has signed a US$76 billion 11-year contract with its broadcast partners. The ratings in the first month of the season are a very positive signal for the league.

So far this season, NBA content has been viewed more than 30 billion times on the league’s own and third-party social media, which is also a new high for the same period of the season.

The league also stated that merchandise sales in the NBA official mall increased by more than 20%, with part of the growth driven by players from those "next generation stars", including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Anthony Edwards, Victor Vunbanyama, Tyrese Maxey, Cooper Flagg, Jaylen Brunson and Luka Doncic.

At the same time, NBA League Pass subscriptions increased by 10%, and the time spent watching games on the platform increased by 8%.

And so far this season, the number of people going to watch the NBA is basically the same as last season, with an attendance rate of about 97%, setting the second-highest record in league history. Currently, 10 teams have sold out all their home games this season, including the Celtics, Cavaliers, Warriors, Rockets, Heat, Knicks, Thunder, Suns, Spurs and Jazz. The attendance of other teams such as the Hawks and Hornets also increased by nearly 10% compared with last season.
