Richard: He has gained the trust of the coach and is increasingly adapting to the team system.

Basketball

Yesterday in the NBA preseason, the Warriors defeated the Trail Blazers 118-111. Stephen Curry played 26 minutes and scored 28 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists; Will Richard played 29 minutes and scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists.

After the game, Will Richard was interviewed:

Reporter: Do you feel that you have won the trust of Coach Cole and the coaching staff now?

Richard: I think so. For me, it's probably just going out there and trying to play the right way and keep things simple. Throughout training camp, I’ve been asking a lot of questions and trying to stay on the same page as everyone else. I know we have a lot of veterans on the team, so I have to get up to speed quickly. So now I just try to ask as many questions as possible to make sure that I know exactly what to do when I get on the field.

Reporter: Have you ever played with the starting lineup in training? Have you ever practiced with the first-tier team?

Richard: This (match) is the first time.

Reporter: When did you know you were going to start?

Richard: I was notified during shooting practice the day before the game. I was definitely excited and ready to compete.

Reporter: When you play with the starting lineup, do you feel any different from before?

Richard: Yes. Although the essence is still playing basketball, it is indeed a bit different to play with people like Stephen. They know how to play the game very well. They have played for so many years and have a lot of experience. Playing with them will make the game much easier.

Reporter: How do you think you played tonight?

Richard: I think it’s okay. However, some free throws were missed, and there are still some things that need to be adapted and adjusted in terms of defensive rotations. But this was my first time playing with these starters, and overall I thought I did pretty well.

Reporter: In the past few weeks from the beginning of the training camp to now, where do you think you have improved the most?

Richard: I think it should be adaptability. I am becoming more and more accustomed to the team system, and I am fully aware of Coach Cole's requirements. So now on the court, I can simplify the game and know where to stand on defense and what to do on offense - like when to space the floor and when to cut in, I know all of this. So the biggest improvement should be to fully understand what should happen on the field and what you should do.

Reporter: That’s cool, thank you very much.
