On August 27, according to Suns reporter Gerald Bourguet, the Suns' valuation has exceeded US$6 billion and the overall valuation is approaching US$7 billion. The team management rejected the two minority shareholders' cash-out request of US$825 million based on the current surge in valuation.

It is reported that two partners of the Suns asked Suns boss Ishbiya to buy back their shares for $825 million, because the Suns are currently valued at more than $6 billion, an increase of 60% from when Ishbiya acquired the controlling stake in 2023; the two small shareholders want to cash out, but the Suns have refused to buy back the shares of the small shareholders. The team management made a rejection decision based on the current background of soaring valuations.

Ishbiya acquired controlling stakes of the Suns and Mercury for US$4 billion in 2023. The Suns said they do not object to the two small shareholders selling the shares to third parties and are willing to support any buyers who are interested in cooperating to promote the development of the team, but stressed that they have no right to force the controlling party to buy back.

Bourguet also reported that Ishbiya will continue to invest in both teams, reaffirming the goals he set for the championship, impact the community and improve the fan experience.

Ishbiya officially became the new owner of the Suns in 2023. After taking office, he promoted a big deal from Durant. Later, he signed Bill in the offseason to build the three giants of Durant + Booker + Bill. However, the Suns were swept 4-0 by the Timberwolves in the first round of the 2023-24 season, and they didn't even make it into the playoffs in the 2024-25 season.
