Reporter Brett Siegel reported on November 8 that Memphis Grizzlies head coach Tuomas Isalo is said to have asked Morant to bring better energy and inspire teammates, but this was not recognized by Morant.

BrettSiegel said: "Sources say that Isalo's constant frequent rotations in the first two weeks of the 25-26 season began to have an impact on Morant's psychology, leading to a communication between the coaching staff and players at halftime. At that time, the star point guard was asked to perform better and boost the team's energy, even though the team was already leading at the time 14 points. Morant did not agree with this, which was reflected in his mediocre performance in the second half."

BrettSiegel said that although the exact words of the dispute between Issalo and Morant in the locker room were not fully shared with her, multiple sources said that Issalo specifically criticized Morant's efforts and leadership in the post-game locker room meeting. The voices rose during this postgame locker room meeting, and Morant essentially told Isalo that the rotation wasn't working and was responsible for the lack of enthusiasm in the second half.
