Westbrook s NBA future is doubtful, and a shocking report says the Kings are its last hope

Basketball

Former NBA MVP and triple-double king Russell Westbrook is one of the biggest players in the free agent market. However, a new report suggests that Westbrook's future in the league is questionable, with only one team likely to bring him in next season.

According to NBA insider Jack Fischer, the Kings are the only team interested in Westbrook, and the $3.7 billion team has no players anymore. Fisher noted on the "Inside Notes" show on Bleacher Report on YouTube that if the 36-year-old defender didn't sign with Sacramento, he might be over.

"We are waiting for other Sacramento deals before the King tries to bring in Russell Westbrook," Fisher said. "This is the real focus we've always had on Russell Westbrook. It's still the home I heard earlier this week. ... Honestly, if he could still play in the NBA."

Russell Westbrook performed well with the Denver Nuggets last season. Westbrook averaged 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He would have great nights with Nikola Jokic, but he also had some bad nights that made some fans disgusted him.

The Sacramento Kings are the only team that has been linked to him this offseason, although they already have Dennis Schroeder as the starter. After gaining his rights from the Detroit Pistons, they signed him a three-year, $45 million contract. Their roster also has other organizers, such as Malik Monk and Devin Carter, as well as some veterans, such as DeRozan and Sabonis.

Other teams are considered potential landing points for Russell Westbrook

While the Sacramento Kings are the only team interested in Russell Westbrook, some may need his service next season. Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report pointed out that the Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks and Miami Heat are potential spots for the former NBA MVP.

The Bucks do not have a natural playmaker in the event Kevin Porter Jr. vs. Cole Anthony for the starting point guard position. The Knicks strengthened the depth of the backcourt by introducing Jordan Clarkson, but he was more of a scorer than a passer.

Heat are known for letting players play to their best, so head coach Eric Spoelstra can do miracles for Westbrook.
