Achimpen: I don’t have any pressure to play football at Chelsea; Chaloba played the best table tennis in the team

July 1, Chelsea defeated Benfica and entered the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup. Blues official media released the "Club World Cup Diary" of defender Achimpon.

Maybe I shouldn't say that when I'm in Miami, but I really don't like the beach! The sand is not very suitable for me, I prefer to stay by the pool or go shopping in the city or something. For me, this trip to the United States is different from the last time. Last summer's preseason, I hope to show everyone my abilities. And now I'm more confident because I've spent 24-25 seasons with the team and have built new relationships and friendships, both inside and outside the court and that has helped me a lot.

Hotel is indeed a place where we spend a lot of time and everyone has a great time together. Some teammates can play cards, and we also held a table tennis match, and I think Charoba is the most powerful. I used to play well, but now I don't play much anymore. When I have time, I actually want to sleep and relax. I will also watch Netflix's "Power Desire" with George. His progress in watching dramas is slower than me, so I try not to spoil it!

What I want to say is that we have a good relationship, starting from the youth training camp, there are Rees, Colville, Charoba, etc. It is great to have such a tacit understanding in a team. Reese is my role model, he also came from Cobham, playing in the same position as me, and now he is the captain of the team. Reese is the kind of person you can ask for advice, he will share his experience, and so will Colville and Charoba. They will empathize with you because they may have had the same experience.

I often observe Rees and Gustows during training because they are in similar positions as me. Getting into the midfield position is a new challenge for me, and it may be my first attempt at the role since the U14 echelon, but I enjoyed the process.

I try not to think too much about these issues. My first Premier League game was against Crystal Palace, and the camera was facing me as soon as I appeared. I was a little surprised at that moment, but instead of letting these things affect my performance, I continued to focus on the game.

Someone asked me if I felt stressed, but I actually didn't. If I have the opportunity to play for Chelsea, I will cherish it very much and try to play to my level. I don’t want to be affected by the reputation of the camera or the opponent. I think my performance has improved this year, I feel that I am stronger, participating in the European Union game has helped me a lot, it has allowed me to stand firm and I have gained a lot of valuable playing time. Finally we held up the trophy, which was undoubtedly the best moment since I put on the Blues’ gown, and I hope there will be more of them in the future.
