Amorin hints that Manchester United s forward signings end, new players beat old players

On July 26, Manchester United coach Amorin hinted to the media that the club may not introduce new strikers in this summer transfer window. Before this, Manchester United had signed two attackers, Brian Mbeumo and Mattus Cunia.

Last season, Rasmus Hoylund and Joshua Zilkize competed for the main players in the front line, but the two contributed only 7 goals in the Premier League. Therefore, Manchester United has had transfer scandals with Victor Giccres, Oli Watkins and Benjamin Cesco.

However, despite constant rumors, Amorin expressed confidence in the existing attack lineup. Amorin said: "Cunya and Mbeumo can play in the center position. We also have Zilkze and Hoylund. The current focus of the team is to improve their tacit understanding and connection. I am not sure whether the (center) position is theirs. They need to work hard because there are other players who are also competing for this position."

Amorin appreciates the new players' professional attitude: "I am very satisfied with them. They have proved their abilities and are very humble, which is very important. They have other options, including teams that can participate in the Champions League, and they are also aware of the various comments about the current situation of our club, but they still decide to join, which is crucial to me."

Although Cunya and Mbeumo both have the ability to be centers, the main positions of the two are more inclined to the wing. Data shows that in the Premier League last season, Cunha only 12% of his playing time in the middle of the 2,600 minutes of playing time, and 69% of his time active on the left wing; Mbeumo only 17% of his appearances in the total 3,415 minutes of his appearance, and 81% of his time appeared on the right.

However, the two new players had far higher offensive output last season than Hoylund and Zilkze.
