Aobo: I believed I could win the UEFA Cup in January this year and haven t talked to Levi about my future

In May 22, in the Europa League final, Tottenham defeated Manchester United 1-0 and successfully won the championship. Tottenham coach Postkoglu attended the post-match press conference.
How are you feeling after winning the championship?
It is difficult to describe this emotion in words. I am very proud of the players. To quote my favorite Australian Prime Minister: This is a victory for true trustees. It’s an incredible group of players who never waver and never lose confidence in me and what we are doing.
How do you think of Tottenham fans?
I know someone thinks that the relationship between me and the fans is tense, but every fan I meet is very friendly. I understand everyone’s disappointment in this season’s Premier League, but look at them tonight… This is a reward for them, and for my wife, son, family, friends – they are all sources of inspiration for me. I was so happy to see them appear on the court with a smile on my face.
Is this the greatest thing you have ever done?
If I say that, it will underestimate my other achievements and those who have achieved it with me. But it was definitely the hardest thing I've ever done, and I know that. The club has had world-class coaches and players, but they haven’t spent such nights. I know what I have done.
Have you been convinced that Tottenham can win the UEFA Cup?
After the winter transfer period in January this year, I decided to compete for this trophy. This may be inconsistent with what some people in the club think, but I really believe we can win. It costs us the price in the Premier League, I take responsibility for it, but I feel it is even more important to win something in the end.
Will this championship be a new starting point for Tottenham?
We have a very young group of players. You can talk to them about success, but you won't feel realistic about it until they're really successful. I have no doubt that they will want to have this sense of success again and they have to make a similar sacrifice for it. I think this championship will speed up the team building and make us a team that can be successful and competitive in the next few years. There is still a lot of work to be done, but not as much as people think. Someone may not understand the meaning of what we are trying to build here, and tonight is a great platform for us to move forward.
Have you talked to Tottenham Chairman Levi about his future?
I have no plans for a meeting, no discussion, and no one has talked to me about anything. Maybe they don't think they need to talk, maybe they are waiting for the outcome of this game. All I know is that next I will go back to the hotel and get together with my family and friends, open a bottle of good scotch, have a few drinks, and be ready for Friday’s championship celebration parade and Sunday’s Premier League match against Brighton. That will be our last home game of the season and we hope to have a good end. Then next Monday, I will be on vacation with my family, which we deserve.
