Moyes talks about his former disciple Kudus: He is Tottenham’s best signing this summer, very good

Football

October 25th On the eve of Everton’s away game against Tottenham, Everton head coach David Moyes was interviewed. He talked about Kudus, who he once coached, and pointed out the main problems the team currently encounters on the offensive end.

Q: How do you evaluate Kudus? You signed him at West Ham United.

Moyes: He is an excellent player. He has a lot of qualities in his game. He was a great person to work with. I really enjoyed being able to take him with me at that time. I have a good relationship with him. He has great strength, great balance, you can't knock him off the ball. He can play inside or outside, and he can play multiple positions if you need him to. He's just finding his form at Spurs. I saw him do a lot of things, whether it was scoring goals or creating goals. As it stands, he looks to be their best acquisition of the summer from a distance. I'm no Tottenham expert, but it looks like it.

Q: Everton’s main problem seems not to be creating opportunities, but the ability to seize them. What do you think?

Moyes: Buying a striker is difficult. You name me the forwards you can buy, and I can tell you. You thought you could come up with someone. But I'll tell you why I can't buy them, or why they don't want to come here. There is always a reason whether it be age, money or whatever. Behind the scenes we are not stupid, we strive for what we think we can get.

To be honest, I couldn't find any forward in my years at West Ham United. We buy one every year and Scamacca finds it very difficult, while he is still the number 9 in Italy. But the three players we have now can play the way we are now, and we'll accept that. We can't solve everything in one window. We probably didn't have the attraction to do that at the time either. I hope we can find goals from Thieno Bari and get some from Beto, the other lads are very creative.
