RMC: French police disapprove of Paris s championship parade on Champs Elysees

Football

RMC Sports reported on May 23 that French police did not approve of Paris's championship parade on the Champs Elysees.

French Interior Minister Bruno Le Tellere held a closed-door meeting at the Ministry of Interior this morning to discuss the Paris security deployment plan during the Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan.

The primary controversy lies in whether to set up a fan zone in the center of Paris. Although the Paris city government promised to set up a giant screen when the team advanced to the finals, Director Nunes recently made it clear to RMC Radio that he did not agree with such arrangements: "I think the fan zone should be set up in a closed space."

This standard is consistent with the conditions of the Princes Stadium, which will accommodate at least 38,000 spectators to watch the game through the big screen. The police are very familiar with its security process.

The second focus is whether Paris Saint-Germain can hold a celebration parade on the Champs Elysees if it wins the championship. RMC Sports Channel learned from multiple sources that given the short preparation time after the carnival night and the major security pressure, the police currently tend to reject the plan, but the club's senior management still looks forward to the team's victory parade with the Arc de Triomphe as the background.
