Salah: If you want to achieve great things, you need to enjoy the game as you did when you were a kid

Hupu, August 9th, Salah and Van Dijk jointly accepted a joint interview with Liverpool.

Salah and Van Dyke won major honors at Liverpool, including two Premier League titles, and they are one of the members who broke the club's 30-year championship drought in 2020. That achievement lost the opportunity to celebrate with fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic and empty games.

Realizing the dream in front of fans earlier this year, winning the league championship trophy is of far-reaching significance even for players with rich experience and honor.

Salah said: "After winning the Premier League last year, there will never be any dopamine that will flow into my body like that time! We had the opportunity to win the championship without playing this season, and I'm glad we didn't. That day, everyone was in the training center, waiting for Crystal Palace to win Arsenal. I just kept praying in my heart: 'Don't, don't' because we want to win the championship at Anfield. You see how special this is for the fans. It's really incredible to win the Premier League at Anfield."

In the 2024-25 season, Salah scored 34 goals in various competitions, rising to the third place in the club's historical scorer list with a total of 245 goals. He personally was also elected Premier League Player of the Year and Football Reporter Association Football of the Year for his outstanding performance.

Just a few days ago, he and Van Dijk, together with teammates McAllister and Wilz, were selected as the 30-man shortlist for the 2025 Golden Globe Awards.

Salah added: "Sometimes we forget the fun of the game, which is why we played since we were young. When you play with joy and love, you can achieve great things. Now some of the younger generations we are seeing are difficult to do this because of social media and all kinds of pressures. If you want to achieve great things, I think you need to enjoy the game like we did when we were kids.

" Being a legend in a club, especially in a club like Liverpool, is a very amazing thing. This shows that you have made great efforts and achieved achievements that are difficult for others to achieve. I'm grateful for having such an experience. ”
