On May 9, Bundesliga powerhouse Leverkusen officially announced that head coach Alonso will leave this summer. According to previous reports, after Ancelotti leaves the Bernabeu, Alonso will become Real Madrid's new coach.
While coaching Leverkusen, Alonso led the team to win three championship trophys. Last season, the pharmaceutical factory won the Bundesliga championship with an unbeaten record, which is also the first Bundesliga championship in their team's history.
Previously, it was reported that Leverkusen had begun to look for a suitable new coach, with former Manchester United coach Ten Hager and former Barcelona coach Xavi both choosing the coach list.
