Wilz: I am very much looking forward to playing in the Premier League. Slott s vision impressed me
August 5th news Liverpool new player Wilz was interviewed by the Liverpool Echo this week. He said he was very much looking forward to playing in the Premier League, and revealed that he was indeed moved by coach Slott's plan.
There were many players in football who were overwhelmed by the pressure of club record transfer fees, but for Liverpool's new player Wiltz, he had no such burden at all. In fact, the opposite is true. "I'm the kind of player who needs freedom on the court and the coach gives me that freedom," Wiltz said. "Of course, I have to respect the position on the court and the teammates around me. But I'll try to get the best performance on the court and find the right spot. I have the freedom to do this. I'll try to find the right spot and catch space, create threats and create opportunities. I haven't played in the Premier League yet, but I'm looking forward to it. That's why I'm here."
When asked if he thought playing his usual style in the Premier League would be more difficult than in the Bundesliga, Wiltz added: "To be honest, I don't know. I'm really looking forward to playing in the Premier League. It will certainly be a little different from the Bundesliga, but it's something I can learn. It will make me better."
Wiltz has begun to draw on some of his teammates' experience, with Sobosloy, Konath, Endo and Heravengberg all playing in the Bundesliga before.
"They said the game is more intense and the confrontation is stronger," said Wilz. "Every player is very strong and fast. Everyone told me that, so I know something about it."
However, Wilz does not expect that he will have too long adaptation, and he is confident in the vision that Liverpool coach Slott portrayed him.
"Yes, I'm here because I can fit in this team," Wiltz added, "I enjoy playing with these players. Things are getting better every time. I'm happy with the progress it is now. I'm really enjoying the first few weeks. Monday was my first time at Anfield and I love it here!" Wiltz once again stressed and firmly believed that the high transfer fee would not have any impact on him. "I won't think about this," Wiltz continued. "I just want to play football. How much money is paid between clubs has nothing to do with me."
Speaking of another new player who came to Liverpool from the Bundesliga, Wiltz said: "Ekitic is a very good player. I used to enjoy watching him play in Frankfurt, and I was really happy when he decided to join us. We had a good cooperation in training. We had some great cooperation on Monday. I'm so glad to be able to do it. Playing with him. I think it's good to have a few new players joining at the same time so we can connect and share feelings with each other. It helps to get into the team. "
" Of course, the biggest challenge is to win the championship again," Wiltz said. "It's the hardest thing. I'll try to create opportunities and I'll also be involved in defense because I can run a lot of roads. I'll try to bring these to the team. With the ball, I hope to make the team better and put my teammates in a better position."
