Halliburton confirms reimbursement for the new season! The president confirms that he will not play and cannot joke about his health
On July 8, the NBA entered the offseason. In an interview, Pacers president Prichard confirmed that star Halliburton was reimbursed for the season. In this year's G7, Halliburton suffered a torn Achilles tendon, and the team missed the NBA championship.
In this year's playoffs, Halliburton led the Pacers to defeat strong enemies and entered the finals. However, in the first quarter of the finals tiebreak, Halliburton withdrew from the game in the first quarter and played 7 minutes before leaving the game to score 9 points. The Pacers eventually lost to the Thunder and missed the championship. Halliburton was diagnosed with a torn Achilles tendon and soon underwent surgery.
Earlier today, Kevin Prichard, president of basketball operations at Pacers, was interviewed today and talked about Halliburton's situation. He confirmed Halliburton's season reimbursement: "I have no doubt that he will return in a stronger state, but he will not play in the new season, and we will not take risks now."
Haliburton signed a five-year, worth $245 million early contract renewal contract with the Pacers in July 2023, with the maximum amount of the contract reaching $260 million; currently his contract has four years left, with a salary of $42.18 million this season, a salary of $45.55 million next season, a salary of $48.92 million in 2026-27, a salary of $52.3 million in 2027-28, and a salary of $55.67 million in 2028-29.
In the 2024-25 season, Halliburton played 73 regular season games, averaging 18.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 9.2 assists, 1.4 steals, 0.7 blocks, with a shooting percentage of 47.3% and a three-point shooting percentage of 38.8%; he played 23 games in the playoffs, averaging 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 8.6 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.7 blocks, with a shooting percentage of 46.3%, and a three-point shooting percentage of 34%.
