The Raptors refuse to release Pelter for KD
On June 21, according to Raptors' reporter Michael Granger, multiple sources confirmed that Raptors center Pertel will not be included in any trading plan for Durant. The Suns asked Pertel to join the trade before the trading deadline, but the Raptors firmly refused at the time. The reporter said that the more likely situation is that the Raptors will reach an early renewal with Pearl as soon as possible. If he chooses to execute the last-year player option for the existing contract (19.5 million), he is eligible to sign a three-year early renewal contract worth $88.2 million; if he chooses to jump out of the contract and re-sign, he can get a four-year, $121.8 million renewal contract.
