After being included in the transfer list by the club, Cheltenham Town midfielder Harrison Sonner is currently in the trial training of Swindon Town, who is also the League Two rival.

Cheltenham Town's Harrison Sonner is currently in his 1st League rival Swindon Town for a pre-season trial.

The left-footed midfielder, who played for Aston Villa and Sunderland, signed a two-year contract with Cheltenham last summer.

Last season, he started 6 times in the English League Two, played 2 substitutes, and played 4 times in various cup matches. He also scored a goal in the group stage victory over Newport County in the British Championship.

Soner, from Gloucester, was loaned to Wildstone Club in the National League (Fifth Division) in the second half of the season. He was there to help the team on the last day of the league, defeating Halifax Town 3-1 at home, successfully relegated. After the end of the season, Cheltenham has officially put him on the transfer list. Although at least two NBA clubs have expressed interest in him, he is currently training with Swindon Town, coached by Ian Holloway, hoping to win himself a contract from the County Stadium (Swindon home).

Sona, who is about to celebrate her 23rd birthday this Tuesday, has played once in the League Cup for the "Black Cats" and three times in the British Championship after joining Sunderland from Villa in July 2021.

Before that, as early as January 2021, he made his debut for Aston Villa in an FA Cup match against Liverpool, and scored a goal for Villa's Under 21 team in the British Championship against Carlisle United.
