Following Amsterdam, Herafenberg unveils the second Cruyff Stadium in Liverpool

May 22nd News Recently, Herafenberg unveiled the second Cruyff stadium in Liverpool, the second Cruyff stadium named after Herafenberg. Last year, he also unveiled one in his hometown of Amsterdam.

Hrafenberg said: "It's a special event, held at a special foundation, a special place, and it's close to a special club. I think it's very important for all children to have the opportunity to participate in sports, and sports have always played an important role in my life."

"Because of this, I think every child should have the opportunity to participate, regardless of whether they have special needs or where they come from. I'm proud to contribute to this through the Cruyff Foundation."

The stadium was originally opened as Anfield Stadium in Cruyff in 2016 and is less than a mile from Liverpool's home court and is the third Cruyff Stadium in the UK. It plays a major role in local youth community programs, led by the LFC Foundation and ASCC, and hosts national events such as the 2017 6v6 Cruyff Stadium National Finals, and the 2023 Cruyff Foundation Coaching Course.

Now, fully renovated, the stadium is equipped with state-of-the-art venues, modern fences and new goals, will continue to provide local children with a safe and inspirational space where they can play, grow and dream. Simon Wood, UK project manager at Cruyff Stadium, said: "The renovation and reopening of this stadium means that local children and young people will continue to have a safe play space. The Cruyff Stadium has been in use for nearly a decade, where thousands of young people make friends, practice skills and improve their health. Here Heraffenberg unveiled his second Cruyff Stadium, showing his commitment to the importance of these spaces, while also inspiring the children."

LFC Foundation CEO Ma "We are delighted to be working with the Cruyff Foundation to provide such an excellent facility for local residents. We are very grateful for Ryan's support, and the course is named after him, which is also a great thing for the LFC Foundation."

Since John Cruyff opened its first Cruyff course in Highbury, London in 2008, the foundation has opened 35 (special) Cruyff stadiums in the UK and has established a national network of more than 40 Cruyff Foundation coaches. All projects benefit from funds raised by postal lottery players, who have raised over £4 million to support the Cruyff Foundation’s work in the UK.
