Hamann: Kane s retreating defense should not become the norm and Bayern should not renew his contract

Hupu News on October 20 According to media reports, Bayern Munich intends to renew Harry Kane’s contract in advance. The contract will expire in 2027. Former professional player Dietmar Hamann strongly opposed the plan.

"Kane will be 34 years old when the contract expires. You can't renew a contract with 20 months left," Hamann said on the "Sky90" program: "That's crazy."

The TV expert also expressed doubts about Kane's performance in this matter. "At the Euros, when Kane was substituted, England won the game," he said. "Whether he can score against strong teams like Paris Saint-Germain or Arsenal remains to be seen." However, Kane is in excellent form this season, scoring 19 goals and 3 assists after 11 games.

Hamann also believes that Kane's high level of commitment and defensive recovery in the 2-1 win over Dortmund was not entirely positive. "Kane should not make a tackle 20 meters away from his own goal. This should not become a norm. The first possible consequence is that he cannot score." The 52-year-old former player said.

Bayern Munich has won all 11 official games this season. The Munich side are currently leading the Bundesliga table following their home win over Borussia Dortmund.
