Football

Wesley has played in seven leagues in different countries. Even though it is already difficult to catch up with his serious injury, it is still important for Wesley to continue playing football because he still has a big son to support.

Bruges sports director Rigo once saw a photo that shocked him: 25 relatives and friends who rely on Wesley to make a living are crowded by the small kitchen table in their hometown in Brazil. "This young man shoulders an incredible responsibility, not only to take care of his mother, brothers and sisters and children, but even his close friends are seeking help from him. To express his gratitude to him, his brothers even called him 'dad'."

In addition to this large group of relatives and friends, Wesley also had to support his three children, including the son and daughter (half-mother) born at the age of 14 and 16, and another young son born to his newlywed wife.

So to him, the meaning of football has long been more than just dreams. "When I play football, I have to always think about my family, my children, my mother, and all the people around me."

At least in Rigo's opinion, the burden of life on Wesley will not only not crush his football career, but it is his greatest motivation for his journey to this day. "He hopes everyone can be proud of him, and the screams of fans will give him goosebumps. If someone tells him that he plays well, a smile will appear on his face immediately."
