Official: Leicester City CEO Susan Whelan stepped down and worked for the club for 15 years

According to official Leicester City news on October 2, Susan Whelan stepped down as CEO after working for the club for 15 years.

Susan Whelan joined the board of directors after the Royal Power Group acquired the club in 2010 and was appointed CEO a year later. During this period, the club rose from the Champions League, won the Premier League title in 2016, and won the FA Cup and Community Shield Cup in 2021. The club also achieved the league rankings of the top three highs in the Premier League era, and has participated in three European games, including advancing to the quarterfinals of 8 in the 2017 Champions League and entering the quarterfinals of 4 in 2022.

Susan Whelan also helped the club's commercial growth and infrastructure development, including the delivery of the cutting-edge facility of the Westgree Training Base, leading the overall planning of the Royal Stadium expansion project, and integrating the Leicester City Women's Football Team into the club's core operation system. She contributed to shaping the long-term strategy of Leicester City women's football.

Susan Whelan also helped strengthen the club's role in community building. As a director of the Vicha Foundation and Leicester City Community Trust, she supports charity projects that improve local life through sports, education and social inclusion.

During this period, Leicester City President Ayawat Srivatanabrapa will temporarily take on the CEO role to ensure the continuity of leadership.
