TA: Chelsea hold formal talks with Wesley Fofana following dangerous driving conviction

Football

November 4 According to TheAthletic report, Chelsea had formal talks with defender Wesley Fofana due to a dangerous driving conviction.

Fofana pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and was sentenced to 300 hours of community service. Fofana, 24, appeared in court last week, where he gave only his name, address and date of birth. Fofana had previously been banned from driving for two years for eight speeding offenses, a penalty announced in May after the incident. Before this court appearance, he had 47 points on his driver's license, and he only needs to accumulate 12 points to face a mandatory driving ban in the UK.

Chelsea felt it was necessary to speak to Fofana regarding his driving offences. The club does not monitor player behavior 24 hours a day, and some issues are left to the players and their management teams to handle themselves. However, Chelsea usually communicate with players when issues arise and this time they felt a meeting was necessary.
