World Sports: Barcelona is expected to inform La Liga before Monday whether it can play against Valencia at Camp Nou

September 3, World Sports reported that the renovation of Camp Nou Stadium is still in full swing, with scaffolding, cranes and workers on the construction site, and dust is flying. Barcelona said they hope to partially reopen the stadium in the first home game of the season against Valencia on September 14.

However, due to tight time and strict safety requirements, especially the security issues highlighted by Barcelona Mayor Jaume Collboni on Tuesday, the plan may face adjustments. Therefore, there is still uncertainty and the official has not officially announced the venue for the fourth round of the league. The club is expected to notify the La Liga final decision by next Monday.

According to Barcelona's expectations, in the first phase of the return plan, the South stand and the rostrum area should be able to receive audiences. From an external perspective, the situation seems to be more optimistic. For example, construction of the South Stand entrance is progressing smoothly, with companies responsible for project management and execution, as well as contractor Limak, inspecting the entrance on Wednesday. On the other side of the court, the rostrum area on Maillol Avenue in Avingudad’Arístides also appears quite spacious, "enough to accommodate fans", said some employees who witnessed the progress of the project every day.

However, many unfinished work can still be seen from the outside, especially safety and signage issues, which need to be resolved in the coming days. In addition to the pressure of construction periods, La Liga representatives also inspected the construction site on Tuesday and visited daily about the progress of the project. In addition, there is an inspection by Dekra, a technical certification body accredited by the municipal government, and must issue a technical report to obtain a license for the first partial use. Without this approval, even if the outside world looks to be going well, it will not be possible to reopen.

Club Barcelona hopes to receive the completion certificate and the active evaluation report of Dekra within the specified time. At the same time, the club also retains the possibility of moving the game to the Cruyff Stadium, which has been approved by the La Liga and only requires the installation of necessary VAR camera equipment. The club can continue to use the Cruyff Stadium if needed, but they have reached an agreement with the city that the match against Getafe will be held at the Olympic Stadium from September 21.

In addition, the home match against Paris Saint-Germain on October 1st also needs to be considered. If the wing of the Camp Nou Stadium does not meet UEFA's requirements, then Barcelona will have to play at the Montwhic Olympic Stadium.
