September 10th, all international matches in September ended. In the past week, all the World Cup qualifiers were over. Six teams went straight to the World Cup, and one pair participated in the cross-continental play-offs. Morocco and Tunisia in Africa also won quotas for the 2026 World Cup.

The current World Cup qualifiers in each continent, South America and Oceania have all ended. Africa’s last two rounds of competition and Asia’s fourth stage will be completed in October. At that time, a total of 9 teams in two continents will be locked in the 2026 World Cup quota.

Central and North America and the Caribbean will only start their third phase of the game this month, and will also produce 3 direct teams and two teams participating in the transcontinental play-offs in November.

The most popular first phase of the European region will continue until November, when the first place in 12 groups will directly advance to the 2026 World Cup, and some teams are expected to lock in the first place in the group in October.

The remaining 12 groups in Europe will be second, and will compete with 4 teams with the best score (according to the overall ranking of the European League, ranking outside the top two in the qualifier group), a total of 16 teams, competing for 4 World Cup finals tickets. The 16 teams will be divided into 4 groups for a single knockout match, and the winners of the 4 groups will be qualified for the World Cup.

Last month, the official announcement that the World Cup group draw ceremony will be held in Washington on December 5, and 42 of the 48 participating teams will be determined. The remaining four European seats and two other global seats will be finalized by the playoffs held in the host country in March 2026. Previously, the use of the fourth placeholder represents the seats that will be determined through subsequent playoffs.
