According to official news on October 17, Riyadh Crescent 34-year-old winger Salim Dosari was elected the 2025 AFC Best Player.

Dosari became the first Saudi player to win this honor twice, and the fourth Asian player to achieve this achievement after Japan's Hidetoshi Nakata (1997, 1998), Uzbekistan's Deparov (2008, 2011) and Qatar's Afif (2019, 2023).

In the AFC Champions League Elite League, Dosari was awarded the top scorer with 10 goals, helping Al Hilal reach the semi-finals; in the domestic arena, he contributed 15 goals and 15 assists. Not only did he win the "Best Saudi Player" award, he also tied the single-season assist record and became the historical assists leader in the Saudi League.

The hero who scored the winning goal against Argentina in the 2022 World Cup and created Saudi Arabia's historic victory also recently completed the 100-game milestone for his national team. Just earlier this week, he once again led Saudi Arabia to successfully qualify for the 2026 World Cup and will usher in his third consecutive World Cup trip.
